An overhead pedestrian crossing was constructed above Gagarin Avenue, one of Kharkiv’s main highways, as part of the city’s preparations for Euro 2012. Designed to improve pedestrian safety and streamline traffic on this busy thoroughfare, the crossing became a key piece of urban infrastructure during the international football tournament.
